During the meeting with the Minister-Counsellor the Mayor of Uzhhorod Bohdan Andriiv remembered how one year ago together with the Minister-Counsellor and the Chief of Ukrainian National Police Serhiy Knyazev they planted sakura trees in Uzhhorod. The Mayor noted that the sakura trees have since grown big and are blooming. He also expressed his hope to receive support from the Embassy of Japan in order to organize a Japan Week in Uzhhorod next year, and also said he was deeply interested in learning the Japanese waste treatment technologies. The Minister-Counsellor Harada Michio expressed his delight to have the chance of visiting Uzhhorod again, especially in such a beautiful time of sakura blooming. The Minister-Counsellor added that he would like to welcome the initiative of holding the Japan Week in Uzhhorod and said that the Embassy of Japan will support the project.
