Signing Ceremony for Grant Assistance for Human Security Projects of the Kusanone Programme in Ukraine for 2016

  On February 12, 2016 the signing ceremony of six grant contracts under the Grant Assistance for Human Security Projects of the Kusanone Programme for 2016 in Ukraine took place at the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. The following assistance projects were signed:
  1. “The Project for Rehabilitation of Mykolaivka Village School” (Zaporizhia Oblast).
  2. “The Project for Equipping Brovary City Social Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities” (Kyiv Oblast).
  3. “The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Novovorontsovka District Central Hospital” (Kherson Oblast).
  4. “The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Pokrovske District Central Hospital” (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast).
  5. “The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Lyshanka District Central Hospital” (Cherkasy Oblast).
  6. “The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Melitopol City Hospital No. 2” (Zaporizhia Oblast).
  Almost 460,000 USD was granted for the implementation of these projects in order to improve the educational and health care environment in Ukraine. The funds will be used for window and door replacements at the school, provision of a mini bus and elevator for disabled children at the rehabilitation center, and supply of medical equipment for the hospitals.
  Interest in the Kusanone Programme seems to be steadily growing, as many mass media representatives attended the ceremony.
