Ambassador Kurai observes the second round of Ukraine’s presidential election and discusses with Ms. Slipachuk, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission

  On 21 April, during the second round of Ukraine’s presidential election, Ambassador of Japan Takashi Kurai visited and observed polling stations in Kyiv as an election observer of the Government of Japan. At the polling stations, Ambassador Kurai was briefed by members of local election commission about operations on the day of the election and exchanged views with other observers. Following the observation activity, he had discussions with G7 Ambassadors and Ms. Slipachuk, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission on the conduct of the presidential election.
  During the day, a total of ten Japanese observers were engaged in election observation activity, including five – three of whom were experts deployed from Japan – who worked as members of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission.
