On November 29, 2016, the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova held a reception on the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Akihito at a venue in Chisinau.
The reception was attended by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister on Reintegration Mr. Gheorghe Balan and other Moldovan government officials, as well as the Deputy President of the Parliament Mrs. Liliana Palihovici and other members of the Parliament. Rrepresentatives of business circles, cultural organizations, researchers and experts of various higher educational institutions as well as diplomatic corps were also present.
H.E. Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Mr. Masanobu Yoshii in his speech addressed to the guests in both English and Romanian (Moldovan) languages referred to the official opening of the Embassy of Japan in January this year, and reiterated his strong desire to further promote the Japan-Moldova bilateral relations.
During the reception the anthems of Japan and the Republic of Moldova were performed by a Moldovan singer. All guests had an opportunity to enjoy Japanese sake as well as watch videos on the Japanese traditional culture, lifestyle and customs. The Japanese flower arrangements ‘Ikebana’ were also on display to delight the eye of those present at this event.
