On September 7, 2016, the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova held a reception dedicated to its official opening in Chisinau.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Mr. Motome Takisawa attended the reception, giving a speech on behalf of the Government of Japan. From the Moldovan side, H.E. President Mr. Timofti delivered a congratulatory speech. H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Mr. Andrei Galbur as well as the Deputy President of Parliament Mrs. Liliana Palihovici also put in their kind appearance.
During the reception the anthems of Japan and the Republic of Moldova were played on Moldovan national music instruments. The ceremonial opening of sake cask was also performed, and the guests had a chance to enjoy Japanese sake.
