Kendo equipment handover ceremony

On March 3 Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Shigeki Sumi participated in hanover ceremony of kendo equipment to the Lviv Kendo Kai, which took place at the V. Stus International Relations Gymnasium of Lviv.
The All Japan Kendo Federation hands over kendo equipment as a part of its policy to spread kendo and support foreign kendo federations. This year 20 sets of kendo equipment and bamboo swords were presented to the Lviv Kendo Kai.
Ambassador Sumi in his welcoming speech said that kendo is a traditional martial art of Japan and a wonderful sport which also builds your character, and he hopes Lviv Kendo Kai will continue training with the same devotion.
A representative from the Lviv Kendo Kai Natalia Kalinichenko said that around 20 people are training regularly at the club and it is a great honor for them to receive kendo equipment from the All Japan Kendo Federation. Also, using this gift as the motivation they will continue training hard and do their best to increase the number of members.
