First Ambassadorial meeting of the G7 Ukraine Support Group

  On January 13, 2016 the first meeting of the ambassadors of the G7 Ukraine Support Group was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine, Shigeki Sumi. Since January 1, 2016 Japan is the G7 chair and will host the Summit of the Group of Seven (Ise-Shima Summit) on May 26-27, 2016. Meanwhile in Kyiv, Ambassador Sumi will chair the G7 Ambassadorial meetings to ensure support for Ukrainian internal reforms. Additionally, Mr. Hajime Hayashi, Director-General of European Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, participated in this first meeting while on a business trip in Kyiv.
