Ambassador Sumi visited a youth sport school of rhythmic gymnastics

On March 2, 2016, Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi visited a youth sport school of rhythmic gymnastics at the invitation of the Vice President of the Ukrainian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Deriugina. Prominent Ukrainian rhythmic gymnasts, including Olympic sportsmen, are brought up at the above-mentioned school, and Ambassador Sumi had an opportunity to observe a training of the hope of Ukraine’s rhythmic gymnastics Ganna Rizatdinova, as well as other sportsmen, who will participate in the next Olympic Games.
During the visit, Ambassador Sumi said that having observed a great performance of Ukrainian rhythmic gymnasts, he now expects Ukrainian sportsmen to perform well during the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo. Moreover, the Ambassador expressed wiliness to support the promotion of exchange between the sportsmen of the two countries. The Ukrainian side explained about its sportsmen training system and need to improve the training environment, and expressed desire to actively promote cooperation between Japan and Ukraine.
