Ambassador Sumi’s visit to an Olympic training center (artistic gymnastics)

On March 22, Ambassador Sumi visited an Olympic training center in Kyiv under the guidance of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation and observed a training of Ukrainian top-class gymnasts. The most promising artistic gymnasts from around the country are training in the center every day aiming to become gold medalists in future. During the visit Ambassador Sumi had also an opportunity to talk with one of the best Ukrainian artistic gymnasts Oleh Vernyayev.
When explaining about the international activity of Ukrainian sportsmen, including Oleh Vernyayev, the representatives of the Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation expressed hopes for promotion of exchange with Japan, which produces many artistic gymnasts. In turn, Ambassador Sumi said that Japan attaches great importance to promotion of sports exchange before the Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo and exchanged views with the Ukrainian side regarding the possibilities for their further cooperation.
