1. Completion ceremony of the Project for Renovation of Bakhmut Central Municipal Library




On March 15, 2016, Mr. Michio Harada, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, visited Bakhmut city in the Donetsk region and participated in the completion ceremony of the Project for Renovation of Bakhmut Central Municipal Library, funded by Japan and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Within the framework of this project not only were the damaged windows renovated, which was caused as a result of military conflicts, more importantly the library has become a place for holding special events particularly for internally displaced people (IDPs). During the ceremony, internally displaced young people gave speeches and presented the culture of Japan.
2. Visit to “Industrial Alliance 2012”, a company which received assistance through UNDP


On March 15, 2016, Mr. Michio Harada, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, visited “Industrial Alliance 2012”, a company located in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, which received assistance under the UNDP project that was funded by Japan. The diplomat observed the provided equipment, and listened to the explanation of the Ukrainian side regarding the situation caused by military conflict, which required them to relocate.
