Ambassador Sumi inspected the situation with providing assistance to IDPs

1. Clothing and footwear repair shop in Kyiv


On April 12, 2016 Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi visited a private clothing and footwear repair shop run by people who moved from Donetsk to Kyiv because of the military conflict. Having received the necessary equipment under one of the UNDP projects financed by Japan, these people managed to successfully reopen their business in Kyiv and hire other IDPs, who were also obliged to relocate due to the situation in eastern Ukraine. A letter of gratitude was sent to Ambassador Sumi by the family running the shop which provided an occasion for him to visit the place.
2. Private dental clinic in Kyiv


On April 12, 2016 Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi visited a private dental clinic run by people who moved from Donetsk to Kyiv due to the military conflict. Having received the medical equipment under one of the UNDP projects financed by Japan the facility hired other IDPs, who were also obliged to relocate due to the situation in eastern Ukraine.
3. Kyiv Medical University of UAFM


On April 12, 2016 Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi visited Kyiv Medical University of UAFM. Having received assistance under one of the UNDP projects financed by Japan, the facility hired professors and administrative workers who moved to Kyiv due to the military conflict in eastern Ukraine. Now the University is able to use the newly acquired equipment to provide treatment for their patients.
