On May 17-19, 2016, Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi and his wife visited Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions. During the visit Ambassador Sumi visited the SE Bordnetze plant located in Ternopil Region and exchanged views with the management. Ambassador Sumi also held meetings with the Head of Ternopil Regional State Administration Stepan Barna, Ternopil City Mayor Serhiy Nadal, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Oleg Honcharuk and Ivano-Frankivsk City Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv.
In each place visited, representatives of the Ukrainian side thanked Ambassador Sumi for his first visit and expressed their expectations regarding further enhancement of inter-communications between the two regions and Japan. Furthermore, the two heads of regional administrations and both mayors expressed their eagerness to develop cooperation and further entice Japanese investments through a very transparent administration and overall improvement in the investment environment.
