On October 6, 2016 Ambassador Sumi participated as a speaker in the panel discussion “Ukraine on the global economic map” of the 3rd Kyiv International Economic Forum. The Ambassadors of the USA, Turkey and South Korea, and the Head of Trade and Economic Section of the European Commission in Ukraine, took part in the above-mentioned panel discussion, during which the problems and prospects of Ukraine’s economic development in the global environment, as well as ongoing economic reforms, were actively discussed.
The Forum, which lasted two days and was held for a third time this year, brought together a lot of experts representing industry, government and academia. Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman gave a speech at the opening plenary session called “Challenges and Prospects of the 21st Century Economy”, and the First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv participated as a speaker in a panel discussion. The officials spoke about the country’s economic development policy and its prospects, which are of great importance for the Ukrainian Government.
