Ambassador Sumi paid visit to project sites in Donetsk Region, Ukraine subject to Japanese assistance through UNHCR and WFP

  On 7-8 November, Ambassador Sumi visited sites under the project to rebuild eastern regions of Ukraine, which are supported by the Government of Japan and implemented by the UNHCR (United Nations Agency for Refugees) and WFP (World Food Programme) in Ukraine. During the business trip, the Ambassador visited a check-point in Mayorsk, reconstructed at the cost of the Japanese Goverment with the help of the UNHCR and WFP living buildings in Slovyansk, talked to refugees (IDPs) at the ‘Slovyansk heart’ charity center in Svyatohorsk, visited a place where food vouchers are being distributed in Kostyantynivka and talked to those who receive food from the WFP in Pokrovsk. Many people, including IDPs, benefit from the assistance provided by our country. Please see the pictures below from the visits mentioned above.
