Ambassador Sumi meets Acting Minister of Health Uliana Suprun

On 14 March Ambassador Sumi held a meeting with the Acting Minister of Health of Ukraine Ms. Uliana Suprun, together with a Chairwoman of the Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation Dr. Etsuko Kita. Ambassador Sumi gave an outline of the Japanese ‘Kusanone’ Humanitarian Aid as a part of the Japanese assistance in Ukraine in the medical sphere, which is planned to be continued. Dr. Kita gave a brief outline of the results of her visit to Ukraine to view the current situation with the Chernobyl disaster victims as well as the overall health care system in Ukraine, and explained about the Japanese health care system from the point of her view as a doctor.
Acting Minister Suprun expressed her gratefulness for the Japanese assistance to Ukraine and explained about the current medical reform process and future plans.
