1. Completion ceremony of the Project for Renovation of Lyman Central Municipal Library in Donetsk region

During the inspection
On March 28, 2017 Ambassador Sumi visited Lyman town in Donetsk region and participated in the completion ceremony of the Project for Renovation of the Central Municipal Library. The project was funded by Japan and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM). It is expected that a lot of local citizens, including IDPs, will greatly benefit from renovation of the facility, namely the repair of old floors, ceilings, walls, windows and toilets.

During the inspection
On March 29, 2017 Ambassador Sumi visited Bilokurakyne town in Donetsk region and participated in the completion ceremony of the Project for Renovation of the Center for Children’s and Youth’s Arts. Under the project, which was funded by Japan and implemented by IOM, old windows, toilets, rooms and halls of the facility were renovated. It is expected that a lot of local citizens, including IDPs, will benefit from the renovation works performed.
3. Participation in the Festival of Communities in Svyatohirsk



During the event
On March 29, 2017 Ambassador Sumi visited Svyatohirsk town in Donetsk region and participated in the Festival of Communities. The Festival brought together the representatives of communities, which have benefited from the Japan-funded IOM projects supporting Donbas recovery. During the event, Japan-related workshops, songs and dances were performed. The Head of Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi also participated in the Festival and expressed his gratitude for Japan’s assistance.
