  On April 18 Deputy Head of Mission, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine Michio Harada visited Uzhgorod in Zakarpattya region and participated in Sakura Planting Ceremony which was held in two locations, namely near the Monument to fallen law enforcement officers and Svobody avenue.
  The ceremony, during which around 40 sakura trees were planted, was attended by the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhii Knyazyev and Uzhgorod City Mayor Bohdan Andriiv.
  During the ceremony, the Deputy Head of Mission said he was very happy to participate in it together with the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhii Knyazyev, Uzhgorod City Mayor Bohdan Andriiv and local citizens, as well as expressed his admiration for the beauty of sakura in Ukzhgorod. He also conveyed expectations that good relations between Japan and Ukraine will continue to deepen. In turn, the Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhii Knyazyev thanked Japan for its support for police reform, as well as sakura trees which symbolize friendly relations between the two countries. Uzhgorod City Mayor Bohdan Andriiv expressed eagerness to hold various events related to Japan in Uzhgorod in future.
