Ambassador Sumi participated in opening ceremony of Luhansk Regional Theatre

On August 22 Ambassador of Japan Shigeki Sumi visited Sievierodonetsk and participated in the opening ceremony of Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre together with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
Besides the President, the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture Yevhen Nyshchuk, Minister of Information Policy Yurii Stets, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Herashchenko and the Head of Luhansk Regional State Administration Yurii Harbuz. In his speech, President Poroshenko stressed the importance of renovating theatres in Donetsk and Luhansk regions the part of which is occupied. Furthermore, visiting the eastern regions Ambassador Sumi received many words of appreciation for Japan’s support. During the ceremony, the Head of Luhansk Regional State Administration Yurii Harbuz presented Ambassador Sumi with a medal of honour “For Development of the Region” as a symbol of gratitude for Japan’s support to Luhansk.
