Deputy Head of Mission Michio Harada participated in Sakura Planting Ceremony and met Chernivtsi Governor

　 On October 19 Michio Harada, Deputy Head of Mission, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine, attended the Sakura Planting Ceremony in Chernivtsi and together with the deputy mayors Oleksandr Paskar and Volodymyr Seredyuk planted 30 sakura trees in the park near Holovna Street.
　 During the ceremony, Deputy Mayor Paskar noted that this year is the Year of Japan in Ukraine and said he was very happy to plant sakura trees in Chernivtsi to celebrate it. He also conveyed his expectations for further development of relations between Japan and Chernivtsi city.
　 In turn, the Deputy Head of Mission said that sakura is very important for Japanese people and asked to take care of the trees planted. He also expressed hopes that these trees will contribute to further promotion of cooperation between Japan and Chernivtsi.
　 On October 20 Michio Harada held a meeting with the Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Oleksandr Fyshchuk during which the sides exchanged views regarding the bilateral cooperation. The Governor also thanked Japan for the sakura trees provided.
