Ambassador Sumi participated in the Sakura Planting Ceremony in Dnipro

On October 26 Ambassador of Japan Shegeki Sumi visited Dnipro and together with the City Mayor Borys Filatov participated in the Sakura Planting Ceremony near the Monument of Eternal Glory on Yavornytskoho Street.
Borys Filator thanked Japan for the political and economic support provided to Ukraine and said he was very happy to plant sakura trees in Dnipro. In turn, Ambassador Sumi noted that this year was declared as the “Year of Japan in Ukraine” in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. He explained that sakura trees are planted throughout Ukraine as a part of the celebration and expressed hopes that in future these trees would become a symbol of friendly relations between Japan and Ukraine.
