Ambassador Sumi and his wife attend Ningyo-joruri performance

On November 11, Ambassador Sumi and his wife attended ningyo-joruri performance (puppet performance), held at the Kyiv Puppet Theatre, as the event within the Year of Japan in Ukraine.
In his welcoming speech Ambassador Sumi mentioned, that usually puppet performance is associated with children, but ningyo-joruri is unique, because it is created for adult audience. Moreover, ningyo-joruri has a 400 year history, and its main feature is that puppets move as if they are alive.
A famouse play ‘The she-fox of Shinoda forest’ was performed at the stage, having gathered the audience ovations and attention. Also, ningyo-joruri visited Lviv on November 8, and Dnipro on November 12.
