Ambassador Sumi participated in the handover ceremony for medical equipment

On December 21, 2017 Ambassador Sumi, together with the Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak, participated in the ceremony to hand over medical equipment (anesthetic stations) to the Kyiv Military Hospital through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
As part of the humanitarian assistance to the healthcare sector, the above-mentioned equipment was granted in order to improve the medical system of hospitals providing treatment and social rehabilitation to those wounded in the conflict in eastern Ukraine, whose number is increasing every day.
In his speech, Ambassador Sumi noted that last year Japan began to provide assistance to military hospitals and has so far provided endoscopy equipment, CT scanners, etc. He said he was happy to hand over the anesthetic stations to the hospital this year and expressed hopes that the equipment provided would be useful.
