Evening with representatives of the National Opera & Ballet House of Ukraine

On 9 July Ambassador Sumi with spouse hosted a party for the representatives of the National Opera & Ballet House of Ukraine lead by the general director of the theatre Mr. Petro Chupryna.
The ballet and opera troupes of the theater regularly tour in Japan as it is this year also. This evening was also an opportunity to congratulate the team on the successful completion of the season, during which Ambassador discussed the possibility of further promotion of theatre’s activity in Japan.
Opera singers kindly performed the arias from their repertoire, followed by the traditional dance of Viennese balls named quadrille. In Japan a lot of efforts are made to popularize Kyiv ballet and opera, as well as the artists themselves, who expressed their willingness to spread ballet and opera culture among Japanese audience.
