Grant assistance for human security projects of the Kusanone program in Ukraine 2015

On the 13th of March, 2015 a signing ceremony of nine grant contracts under the Grant Assistance for Human Security Projects of the Kusanone Programme in Ukraine 2015 took place at the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. The following assistance projects were signed:
- • The Project for Improvement of Educational Environment at Olenivka Village School and Kindergarten (Vinnytsya oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Educational Environment in Hlobyno District (Poltava oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Educational Environment at Tomakivka Village School (Dnipropetrovsk oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Educational Environment in Bilozerka District (Kherson oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Educational Environment in Yurievka District (Dnipropetrovsk oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Dnipropetrovsk City Hospital №4 (Dnipropetrovsk oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Vasilievka District Central Hospital (Zaporizhzha oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Kherson City Hospital (Kherson oblast)
- • The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment at Lozova City Hospital (Kharkiv oblast)
Under these projects a total of about 810,000 US dollars has been granted in order to improve the educational environment and health care environment in Ukraine. Funds granted in the framework of this support are targeted to schools and medical institutions located in the eastern areas of Ukraine, which is greatly effected by the worsening situation. The funds will be used for window replacements and ceiling renovation in schools and kindergartens, boiler settlement, and supply of medical equipment in hospitals. Japan hopes this support will help improve the educational environment for Ukrainian children and the quality of medical services for every citizen.
